Rock and roll buffs: If you have always wanted a “gold” record, here’s your chance! Actually, these records are made from gold-plated brass, though the Beatles songs depicted were legitimate hits. Pictured first is “She Loves You” (...Yeah, yeah, yeah!). The all-time top selling single in Europe, this record sold over 1 million copies in Great Britain in just five months. Second is “Twist and Shout”, earlier recorded by the Isley Brothers, but a bigger hit by The Beatles, whose version reached No. 2 on the American charts. The second is After the Beatles’ triumphant appearance on the “Ed Sullivan Show” February 1964, these two songs plus three others held all five of the top spots in the United States—a first in the industry. These cufflinks bear the original paper labels from bubblegum-machine advertising charms, circa 1964. (Titles and colors vary.) The discs are soldered to matching T-style rotating posts and thickly gold-plated.
