This a nice pair of Victorian-era, stamped brass peacock buttons. Peacocks, which are members of the pheasant family, are “One of the most ostentatiously adorned creatures on Earth,” according to National Geographic, plumage being necessary for mating. Their dramatic feathers do apparently work well with the ladies: Many males maintain harems of several peahens! It’s good to be a peacock. Fun fact: Because peacocks regrow their feathers annually, they are considered by some to be a symbol of immortality. We've attached the buttons to beefy, round, one-piece brass cufflinks. The buttons have also been accented with colored resins and antiqued.
